Join us for the August Edition of Pints & Perspective. This month’s topic is An Intro to Queer Langauge and Allyship, presented by Derrick Antson (he/him) a board member of Calgary Outlink. Join the folks from Calgary Outlink for a Pints and Perspectives as they host an introductory discussion on the topic of evolving language that is used to define and described members of the queer community and how people and workplaces can position themselves as accomplices to the 2SLGBTQ+ communities
Calgary Outlink is a community-based, not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing support, education, outreach, and referrals for the 2SLGBTQIA+ and allied communities in Calgary, Alberta.
Derrick Antson (he/him) has a Master of Advanced Studies in Peace & Conflict Transformation and a Bachelors in Philosophy. He believes that this background equips him to deconstruct the secrets of the universe, while his husband often jokes that it just equips him to win arguments. A proud dog-dad to a beagle, a believer in the power of volunteers and a supporter of workers' rights. Derrick lives his life out and proud, bringing a sense of humour and style to everything he does.
As a member of Calgary Outlink's Board since September 2020, Derrick has had the honour to see Outlink's programs unfold and develop and he is truly excited to take this opportunity to gush about the intersection of Calgary Outlink, the Calgary Community, and queer language.
