Nothing can quite prepare you for the views as you make your way up the gondola at Sunshine Meadows. Peaks stretch out into the horizon, turquoise glacier lakes sit eerily still as if they were painted in place, and vibrant wildflowers are sprinkled across the meadows. The air is quiet, but for the crunch of gravel under our hiking boots. Each corner of the trail opens up to a more breathtaking view than the one before. Our only companions are the lake trout jumping from the water, marmots sunning themselves along the rocks, and the grizzly bear ambling along safely in the distance. Once we've taken in all that the views have to offer we soak in the last minutes of sunshine on the adirondack chairs before making our way back to reality. - Erin, Wade & Carla
